Guitarist, Performer, Educator

An eminent guitarist, astrophysicist, and educator from West Bengal, India, Arkapravo Ghosh draws deep musical influence from Latin, Jazz, and Rock traditions. Under the tutelage of Maestro Monojit Datta and Mr. Amyt Datt, he has absorbed the complexities of Latin and Jazz music and the rich heritage of Black music, shaping his expressive and genre-fluid style. With over a decade of experience in both performance and teaching, he has established himself as a respected figure in India’s music scene.

“The Arkapravo Ghosh Collectives” is his current primary project, which he actively performs and tours with, showcasing his original work and collaborations. Earlier in his career, he was the guitarist for Orient Express, reputedly India’s first Latin-American band formed by Mr. Monojit Datta, with performances that paid tribute to iconic sounds like Santana.

His musical journey also includes significant involvement in Colour Bridge, a funk-jazz fusion project, and as part of the commercially successful band Moksha Kolkata, through which he has performed in over 1000 gigs across diverse venues.

Arkapravo has performed at many of India’s premier live music venues and festivals, such as The Piano Man Jazz Club (Delhi/Gurgaon), Depot 48 (Delhi), Home PVR (Delhi), Side Car (Delhi), PCO (Delhi), BFlat and The Humming Tree (Bangalore), Shisha Jazz Café and Swigg (Pune), Calcutta Drum Festival (ICCR), Thursday Night Jazz Encounter (Phoenix Kolkata), The Tolly Club (Kolkata), Hard Rock Café (Kolkata), The Brass Room (ITC Royal Bengal, Kolkata), Someplace Else (Kolkata), AM:PM (Kolkata), and The India Story at Swabhumi (Kolkata), to name a few.

He has collaborated with numerous artists across the country and conducted music workshops alongside mentors like Maestro Amyt Datt and Latin Maestro Monojit Datta, further contributing to the development of musicians nationwide. In addition, he has served as a judge at various music competitions during college festivals, sharing his expertise and encouraging emerging talent.
